ESAT Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 2: what to practise
Mathematics 1 is the shared module. Mathematics 2 adds calculus. Both are non-calculator.
Mathematics 1
Expect algebra, ratio, sequences, probability and straightforward graphs. The arithmetic is manageable if you write the equation before you calculate.
Mathematics 2
Differentiation, integration and functions sit on top of the Mathematics 1 material. If the course does not list Mathematics 2, do not spend the week only on calculus.
A useful split
- Two Mathematics 1 modules under time.
- One review of the algebra you missed.
- A Mathematics 2 module only if the course requires it.
