GMAT Verbal: Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension strategies
Predict the answer from the argument structure before shopping options under the 45-minute section clock.
CR: find the job of the question
Strengthen, weaken, assumption, evaluate or flaw — each asks for a different relationship to the argument. Label the job before reading options.
RC: map, then detail
Track the author’s purpose and paragraph roles. Detail questions should send you back to a line with a prediction, not a scavenger hunt through every choice.
Review
Write the abstract pattern of each miss. Retest that pattern on fresh items the next day.
Try the questions before reviewing the answers
Try the task under a clear time limit before reading guidance. Repair one weakness, then attempt a fresh item without notes.
