ICAS test day tips: online navigation, pacing and school rules
A simple ICAS checklist for school instructions, device issues, reading online material, difficult items and healthy perspective.
Your school controls the local session and communicates arrival, device and supervision arrangements. Follow that information over generic online advice.
Before the session
Keep the day normal and avoid a last-minute full test. Confirm any school-requested materials and remember the exact subject being sat.
On screen
Read instructions, headings, axes, legends and scrollable areas. Select carefully and use review tools only as directed. Tell the supervisor immediately if content does not display or the device behaves unexpectedly.
Manage uncertainty
Eliminate options with evidence, make the best supported answer and continue. Do not rush because another student appears to finish a screen first.
Afterwards
Avoid reconstructing secure questions or forecasting awards from remembered answers. When official results arrive, use the report and school context to identify strengths and useful next learning steps.
