和 (hé) joins nouns: tea and coffee, you and me. 与 (yǔ) is often more formal. 及 (jí) occurs in written lists. To join whole statements, choose a connector that expresses their relationship, or use separate clauses.
我买了茶和咖啡。
Wǒ mǎi le chá hé kāfēi.
I bought tea and coffee.
请填写姓名及地址。
Qǐng tiánxiě xìngmíng jí dìzhǐ.
Please fill in your name and address.
和 is not a universal replacement for English “and”. 跟 can also connect nouns in conversation.
