Chinese comparisons with 比 and 一样

Use A + 比 (bǐ) + B + adjective to say that A has more of a quality than B. Use A + 跟/和 + B + 一样 (yíyàng) + adjective for an equal comparison.
今天比昨天冷。
Jīntiān bǐ zuótiān lěng.
Today is colder than yesterday.
这本书跟那本一样贵。
Zhè běn shū gēn nà běn yíyàng guì.
This book is as expensive as that one.
Do not insert 很 before the adjective in a basic 比 comparison. 不比 and 没有 make different claims: no more than versus less than.
