出来、出去 and directional complements

来 and 去 orient motion towards or away from the speaker or another reference point. 出来 means come out; 出去 means go out. Similar combinations include 进来、进去、回来 and 回去.
请进来。
Qǐng jìn lái.
Please come in.
他走出去了。
Tā zǒu chū qù le.
He walked out away from here.
Direction complements also have extended meanings: 看出来 means discern or work out by looking.
