早く・速く (hayaku): Early; quickly

はやく

hayaku

Meaning

Early; quickly

Two original examples

今日は早く起きました。

I got up early today.

もう少し速く歩けますか。

Can you walk a little faster?

Usage and distinctions

早く is used for early timing; 速く for speed. Both are はやく. A bare 早く! can sound like an impatient command to hurry. More context or a polite request changes the tone.
