OC test study plan: six calm weeks of active practice
A six-week OC schedule combining short diagnostics, focused skill sessions, timed sections and delayed mistake review.
Three sessions of 30–40 minutes a week can provide useful preparation without crowding out sleep, play or schoolwork. Adjust the load to the child.
Week 1: learn and diagnose
Read the official information together and try familiarisation questions. Complete one short unseen set from each section. Record skill categories, not just scores.
Weeks 2–3: strengthen methods
Rotate reading evidence, maths representation and logic constraints. Start each session by recalling the method, then attempt questions without help. Review with explanation and schedule a delayed re-attempt.
Weeks 4–5: add the clock
Complete mixed sets and one section-length practice each week. Build the habit of moving past a stubborn question. Review lucky guesses as well as errors.
Week 6: rehearse lightly
Run one realistic rehearsal early in the week. Use the remaining sessions for a small number of weak skills, then taper. Prepare travel and materials with the child so test-day routines feel predictable.
A simple review script
- What was the question really asking?
- Which clue or rule mattered?
- What will you do first on a similar question?
