Use homework photos to review mistakes and practise again

A photo math solver is built for speed: point the camera, get steps, copy them. That is the product students mean by snap homework. It is also the product that skips encoding. If the camera does the method, the exam still asks you.

RubricMark’s camera path is the opposite job. Photograph a miss you already tried, or a handwritten draft you already wrote. The photo is evidence for a log or a mark — not a request for the answer. See the short photo homework tool guide, then use the checklist below.

Photo as a log, not a solver

  • MCQ / short item you missed — after you attempt, upload the stem to the Mistake Book. Tag the concept. Redrill closed-book tomorrow. Save difficult questions to Recall.
  • Written homework or essay — write first, then photograph the page for assignment feedback. Rubi marks against criteria with quotes from your work. It does not author the draft.
  • Formula sheet you keep rereading — snap it into Outliner or turn key lines into cards you flip. Use the photo as a starting point for answering the question again from memory.

A photo-homework protocol that transfers

  1. Attempt the item with the phone face-down.
  2. If you miss, photograph your working plus the stem — not a blank question for a solver.
  3. Import to Mistake Book. Write one correct first step in your own words.
  4. Tomorrow: retrieve from memory, then sit a short set on curriculum maths drills or a practice test for your exam in Practice Hub.

Hint-only help after a genuine attempt is the pattern that largely protected unassisted scores in the 2025 PNAS tutor study. Full snap-and-solve is the pattern that did not. We are not claiming a RubricMark trial; we are refusing to ship the harmful loop.

What we will not build

Study Lab will not become a photo homework solver, a multi-model answer cross-check, or a “scan this PDF and get every solution.” Those searches are real. The landing is still attempt-first. If you need the method, open Visual Math or the formulas sheet as a retrieval prompt — cover it, say the step, then check.
