Choose a Daily Practice Pack for your year level and skills

Start from a comfortable skill level, not only school year. Study Lab Y7–Y12 ladders for maths and reading let you pick a skill rung, size the sit, and advance when mastery sticks.

Good ladders set a comfortable starting point — often slightly below current maximum capacity — so learners consolidate foundations and stay motivated. Jumping straight to “year level hardest” creates friction without fluency.

On Daily Practice Packs the curriculum pathway exposes that choice explicitly:

  • Year — Y7–Y12 secondary ladders.
  • Subject — Maths (guided solve) or Reading.
  • Time — 5 to 45 minutes; item count scales with the sit.
  • Skill — rungs on the ladder; a Next badge suggests the following concept after your last pack.

How to pick a just-right rung

  1. If yesterday’s pack was >80% with clean method, take the Next skill.
  2. If you needed Example on every item, drop one rung or shorten time and rebuild fluency.
  3. If you only miss arithmetic slips, stay on the rung and tighten working — do not invent harder content yet.

Maths vs reading packs

Maths daily packs use guided step drills — write working, check, reveal method carefully. Reading packs sample literacy skills on the year ladder. Both stay attempt-first; neither invents live MCQs on the sit path from open chat.

When to leave the ladder for a mock

After several rungs feel automatic, book a timed section or full mock in Practice Hub. Daily packs build the skill; mocks prove transfer under clock pressure.

Bottom line

Just-right is a dial, not a grade label. Use year + skill + time to stay in the mastery band, then advance on purpose.
