What is an on-demand (one-way) video interview?

A recorded screening stage with no interviewer present. You answer a fixed set of questions — commonly three to eight — with a short prep window and a capped recording of roughly 1.5 to 3 minutes each. Employers also call it a digital interview, one-way interview, or asynchronous interview.

Can I use this to prepare for a Macquarie or Deloitte video interview?

You can rehearse the format and the answer structure, which is what transfers. RubricMark is independent and does not have any employer’s real questions. Deloitte provides practice questions on its platform — complete those too. Macquarie’s published process varies by market; always follow the invitation you receive.

How long should each answer be?

Aim for the shorter end of the window your invitation gives you, usually about 90 seconds. Open with a one-sentence direct answer, spend most of the time on your own actions, then close with the result and a brief reflection.

Does RubricMark record my video or audio?

Accepted Answer

No. You type the answer you would speak, and the rubric marks the substance — structure, evidence, reflection, and role fit. Nothing is filmed or recorded, so practise your spoken delivery separately once the content is right.
