What is the TARA test?

TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions) is UAT-UK’s non-subject-specific admissions test used by selected Oxford and UCL courses. Three compulsory 40-minute modules run back-to-back: Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and a Writing Task.

How is TARA scored?

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (22 MCQs each) are reported on a 1.0–9.0 scale with no negative marking. The Writing Task is not scored by UAT-UK — it is sent to universities that require it.

When can I sit TARA?

Accepted Answer

UAT-UK runs two Pearson VUE sittings per year (October and January). Most Oxford applicants must use the October sitting; always confirm the current requirement on the course page.
