HSC study plan: twelve weeks from syllabus audit to timed papers
A twelve-week HSC revision framework for multiple courses, spaced retrieval, response practice and full examination rehearsal.
Build one calendar from the official timetable and school commitments. Weight study by exam proximity, course demands and diagnostic evidence—not by which subject feels easiest to organise.
Weeks 1–3: audit
Map every syllabus outcome and examination component. Complete short diagnostics and retrieve core knowledge before checking notes. Identify whether gaps concern content, method or timing.
Weeks 4–7: produce
Practise real response units: essays, short answers, calculations, source analyses and practical-data questions. Alternate courses to space retrieval. Correct work by reproducing, not merely rereading feedback.
Weeks 8–10: time
Sit sections and full papers under current conditions. Track performance by question family and marks lost. Schedule delayed re-attempts of recurring errors.
Weeks 11–12: simulate and taper
Run final rehearsals at the time of day you will sit. Repair only high-impact gaps, then lower volume. Plan recovery between consecutive examinations.
Keep the plan active
Every session should produce checkable output. Colour-coding notes can support organisation, but it cannot replace retrieval or timed writing.
