How to move an Anki deck to iPhone with your review history
Export an .apkg or .colpkg with scheduling information, import it into an iPhone flashcard app and check media, cloze cards and due dates.
Export from Anki desktop
In Anki on a computer, choose File, then Export. Pick “Anki Deck Package (.apkg)” for one deck and its subdecks, or “Anki Collection Package (.colpkg)” for everything. For a deck, turn on Include scheduling information so your review history and due dates travel with the cards, and keep Include media on.
Without scheduling information, Anki assumes you are sharing a clean copy, so every card arrives as new. That is the right choice for sharing a deck with friends and the wrong choice for moving your own reviews.
Import on iPhone
Save the exported file to Files or iCloud Drive. In Ronri, open Tool, then Flashcards, choose Import and then Anki package, and select the file. Keep Include scheduling on when you want your intervals and due dates rather than a fresh start.
Large collections with many images or audio files take longer. Import a small deck first to check how your note types look, then import the rest. If a package uses a structure the app does not support, it is rejected rather than half-imported.
Check five cards before you study
Open a card with an image, one with audio, a cloze card, a reversed card and a card that is due today. Confirm each displays correctly and that the due count roughly matches what you saw in Anki.
Custom template scripts and Anki add-ons do not run in Ronri. If a note type depends on JavaScript in its template, check its display and simplify the template if needed. Ordinary fields, formatting, cloze deletions and media are the parts most decks rely on.
Decide where you will review from now on
After the move you have two separate collections. Reviews you do in Ronri sync through your RubricMark account; they do not appear in Anki or AnkiWeb automatically. Pick one place to review so the same card is not scheduled twice.
Keep your original Anki export as a backup. If you later want to return, export from Ronri as an Anki package and import it into Anki desktop.
Try it yourself
You exported a deck as .apkg but every card shows as new after import. What most likely happened?
Show the answer and explanation
Include scheduling information was turned off when you exported, or scheduling was not kept on import.
Anki removes review history from deck exports without that option, treating the file as a clean copy for sharing.
