Notion, Google Sheets, Excel or Word to flashcards on iPhone
Export a table as CSV for Ronri, or upload a document to draft cards, with the column names and file types that import cleanly.
Tables become decks most easily
If your terms already sit in two columns, you do not need AI. Name the columns front and back (or term and definition), add an optional note column, and export the table as CSV. Ronri imports it as a deck in one step.
In Google Sheets choose File, Download, Comma-separated values. In Excel choose Save As and CSV UTF-8, which keeps accented letters and Chinese or Japanese text intact. In Numbers choose File, Export To, CSV.
Notion databases
For a Notion database with a term property and a definition property, open the menu at the top right, choose Export and pick Markdown & CSV. Unzip the download and keep the .csv file.
Rename the two column headers to front and back before importing, or keep them as term and definition, which Ronri also recognises. Remove extra columns you do not want on the card, because only the first recognised front, back and note columns are used.
Documents and slides
For prose in Word, Google Docs or Notion pages, export a PDF and add it to PDF to flashcards on RubricMark, then edit the draft cards before saving. Super accounts can also upload PowerPoint files; Max accounts can upload Word, Excel, CSV, text, Markdown and images.
Drafting works best one chapter or lecture at a time. Smaller inputs give cards you can check properly before they enter your review schedule.
Import on iPhone
Save the CSV to iCloud Drive or Files. In Ronri, open Tool, then Flashcards, choose Import, then CSV. One file can hold up to 500 cards; split larger tables into several files or decks.
Decks drafted on the website appear in Ronri automatically when you sign in with the same account. Either way, the cards then follow the same spaced-repetition schedule.
