How your flashcards sync between rubricmark.com and Ronri on iPhone

Where web decks, iPhone decks and Anki imports live, what works offline, and how to avoid reviewing the same card twice.

One account holds your decks

Decks you save on the website, such as cards drafted from a PDF, are stored with your RubricMark account. Sign in to Ronri on iPhone with the same account and they appear in your flashcard library, ready to review.

Decks you create or import in Ronri sync back to the same account. If you use several sign-in methods, check that each device shows the same account email before you start, or you may see two separate libraries.

Study offline and sync later

Ronri keeps your cards on the iPhone, so reviews work on a plane or underground. Your changes sync with your account when you are back online.

If you edit the same card on two devices before either syncs, the newer change is kept. For long offline trips, review on one device and let it sync before opening the other.

Anki stays separate

Ronri sync uses your RubricMark account, not AnkiWeb. An Anki deck imported into Ronri becomes a Ronri deck; reviews you do in Ronri do not flow back into Anki, and new Anki reviews do not appear in Ronri on their own.

Choose one place to review each deck. To move back, export from Ronri as an Anki package and import it into Anki desktop. To bring in later Anki edits, re-import a fresh .apkg export.

Plan for your saved-card allowance

Saved cards count across the website and Ronri together. Free accounts can save 500 cards, Super 1,000 and Max unlimited. Large imports beyond your allowance are not added.

If you move to a smaller plan, you can still review, edit and export existing cards; only new additions stop. Check your total before importing a big Anki collection.

Try it yourself

You reviewed a deck in Ronri on a flight and then opened the website before your iPhone reconnected. Why might the website show the old due dates?

Show the answer and explanation

The iPhone had not synced its offline reviews yet; once it reconnects, the account is updated.

Offline reviews are stored on the device first and reach your account on the next sync.
